THUMBS UP OR DOWN?

I certainly believe that women have a different idea of what a "date" is than men do. I believe that women think that if a man invites and pays for the drinks, movie, dinner, whatever, then it's a date. It could be a "friendly" date or a "romantic" date...but it's a date.

Maybe this is how Oprah thinks. Or at least "was" thinking before she was the billionaire that we know and love today.

I was watching her 20th anniversary flashback show on Monday. Here's what she said:

Roger Ebert and I had gone on a date. . . . We went to a movie. He told me that syndication would be a good thing for my show, that there were people who syndicated his show [with Gene Siskel] who'd be interested in talking to me about it." - Date With Destiny: OPRAH WINFREY says a date with Roger Ebert changed her life.

Okay, nice walk down memory lane. But I can't get past the fact that she was on a "date" with Roger Ebert. ROGER EBERT?? Again, maybe it was one of those "friendly" dates between professionals. It did change her life. Maybe not the way Ebert was hoping...

I have to wonder. Did she get the "thumbs" up or down??

I'm sorry - and you are??? Look Mike Wilson is very talented and will land on his feet. Unfortunately in radio change is inevitable. It'll be me next time. and it will be someone else the next time.

Regardless, I'll do my best. If you don't like it, there are other stations to listen to.

As far as the "wannab singer" goes.. read the resume. Been there, done that. I have the gold records on the wall.

As far as guests go, I very seldom book guests. I like my show to be about YOU...and conversations with YOU.

Thanks for listening when you have. If you have to move on, I understand completely.
