John Edwards Lovin' The Spotlight

I watched the John Edwards confession on nightline Friday night...and I have to tell you that I was taken aback by the blatant narcissism that runs through the veins of that man. Here's a guy who tried to convince the American people that he had all the answers tot he problems that we face. He tried to convince us that there are two Americas...one that represents the privileged, and one that represents the poor. Turns out, there are two John Edwards...one that professes his faithful love for his dying wife, and one that travels the world with a blonde admirer, making pit stops for some afternoon delight.

Edwards tells us that the affair was over in 2006, but yet gets caught by a tabloid reporter visiting his "former" lover at a Beverly Hills Hotel. So as I watched, Edwards confess his mistake, I have to wonder... is his addiction to the spotlight at play here? If he truly is narcissistic, which I do believe he is, then he's actually getting some sort of sick high from his return to the spotlight. It doesn't matter to him why...it only matters that John Edwards remains the subject matter for every headline in the mainstream media.

and how is his affair any different than let's say the affairs of one Ronald Regan, Newt Gingrich, or even John McCain? They all portrayed themselves as holier than thou and family values types...yet got some every chance they got.

Cheating is wrong period. However, Edwards' is different. He did it on a wife who was dying, he lied about it time and time again and apparently it isn't as over as he said it was. Funny how all of the ones you mentioned were Conservatives. Yes, I realize you took offense that Edwards happens to be Democrat and he is being called out. However, it isn't because of bias. If you notice Pamela blasted Larry Craig and I don't see her not blasting someone regardless of what party they belong.

no I don't take offense that Edwards is a democrat and called out. But it is odd that Gingrich divorced his wife and cheated on his wife who also had cancer...and not a word from the right. And they still listen to him when he talks about the "sanctity" of marriage.
