AN OPEN LETTER TO MY FRIENDS IN SPRINGFIELD, IL
Wow - it's been two weeks. TIME JUST FLIES BY. I can't believe I've been gone from Springfield for two weeks now. I am really enjoying my new gig and enjoying the new challenge of getting to know a new community with its own character and its own issues.
I am a little homesick, I have to be honest. (And no, Jim Leach, I'm not HOME SICK, I'm homesick. *inside joke*) Springfield was very good to me...very good to this big-dreaming girl who moved to a northern town without knowing a single soul.
So I just want to say thank you. Thank you for the friendship and thank you for becoming my home for three years. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!
Special shout outs to Darlene, Gina, Victoria, Tracy, Chuck, Jim, and Tim (yes, Davlin)....too many really to mention. And a very special thank you to SFC Pete Dowding of the Illinois National Guard. If it weren't for you being with me that last day, I think I would have been a basket case.
Mark your calendars. I will be back in town on March 29th to MC a special fundraising trivia night (along with Jim Leach) for the families of the 3637th Maintenance Company of the Illinois National Guard.

Dear Ms. Furr,
It was disappointing, when I hear that you were moving away. I remember, a few summers ago, when I resumed listening to talk radio (after not having done so for years), four summers ago, when I was working full business hours. (I remember, when I was much younger, that "One-Eyed Jack" used to be on WMAY... I didn't know what their current line-up was, until the summer of 2005.)
It has been great listening to TalkBackNow, and being in contact with you, during the past few years.
