I Like Calling North Carolina Home

It feels so good to be back in my home state of North Carolina.. yep, was born and bred in the Tarheel State. And it feels so good to be part of a team in the Triad headed by the LEGENDARY Bill Flynn. :) As his co-host and producer I only hope I can enhance an already successful career.

As you get to know me, I hope you'll hear my heart in everything that I say. I AM A CONSERVATIVE, but I like to think of myself as the open-minded conservative. I do believe in listening to other opinions and considering an idea that perhaps I may not have thought of before. HOWEVER, I do not believe in compromising core beliefs. That is something I will not do.

For instance...

"Republican" never did mean "Conservative", and it means it less than ever these days... just as "Democrat" is meaning more "Socialist" now that it ever did before. Neither Bush was much of a conservative, but both were good men who were too nice and naive in the face of their domestic enemies. By that I mean, the shark-like uber liberals in congress and the press. Of course, neither Clinton is worth a hoot morally.

I loooooove me some Ronald Reagan... doesn't make him perfect; doesn't make me necessarily like all of his policies -- but he was good for this country. AMEN & AMEN

McCain should be honored for his service and his stance against pork, but not much else (Dear 8lb baby Jesus, please don't let him be the Republican candidate for president anymore.)

Nixon wasn't a conservative either, though he should get 100% credit for getting us out of Vietnam; how you ask? By finally getting America's B-52s up north and bombing the holy you-know-what out of Hanoi! Suddenly the so-called Vietnamese peace delegations stopped carping about the size of the negotiating table and were eager to talk peace at a card table if necessary.

Liberals just don't get that Capitalism is relatively new in the world and is the very best method for the masses of people to get ahead and for individuals to enjoy the highest possible standard of living.

Affirmative Action may be the very WORST idea in a long line of very bad ideas to come out of the liberals in the 60s; and that is saying something considering Lyndon Johnson's ineffectual great society programs.

The country has existed without an income tax longer than it has had one.. but we are close to the halfway point, alas; a fair tax is the best tax, but it ain't gonna happen...too many voting Americans are counting on their brethren to shoulder the tax burden for them.

Government agencies just DO NOT die a natural death and are harder to kill than the road runner...the rural electrification agency is a prime example.. set up to tout the importance of electricity to the yokels.. and yet this danged agency is still alive. WHY I ASK YOU?? I mean, I think we all "get it" don't you? electric lights are good; the power grid covers the land...WHY IS THIS AGENCY STILL AROUND????

You may not like the profit motive. I'm not sure I care. It is the only motive that gets the masses off their asses and willing to do their very best on a consistent basis.. the slavery that is communism won't do it; altruism sure as shoot won't do it. Capitalism is how civilizations thrive, grow and get smarter and more efficient. Want a good example of this efficiency? I could talk about electronics and computers and software, but those are slow pitch easy. We all know about those capitalist miracles. Want to see capitalistic efficiency in action? Look at average crop yield per farmed acre over the two centuries.

It will blow your mind. I do not do drugs, but they need to be made legal again... why? Well, the idea of putting a skinny kid in rape factories we call penal institutions for holding on to one nickel bag of a product that looks like oregano makes no sense...and the fact that we say we are doing that for this kids own good is simply ludicrous. Tell that to the poor kid's sense of dignity, let alone his raw backside. We could get sales tax from a legal product.

Al Sharpton is a clown on his best day and a force of evil incitement on his worst. So is Jesse Jackson.

Speaking of Jesse, Jesse Helms was a GOOD GOOD MAN. His enemies called him racist because he had a southern accent and conservative values. He didn't give a rip.

Whoa.. I think I'm on a roll here. LOL Maybe I'll stop for now and save the rest of my beliefs for another day.

Glad you're listening to Rush Radio 94.5 and glad you're on board with the Morning Rush! I'm glad to be home in North Carolina. Now pass me that glass of sweet tea!
