SHOULD WOMEN BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR SELECTIVE SERVICE?
All men are created equal...Thomas Jefferson used those words for the first time in the Declaration of Independance...words that I believe. Words that I live by. All men are created equal. But what about women? I believe that women are endowed by their Creator certain unalienable rights.. LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
I believe a woman has a right to vote.. I believe a woman has a right to equal pay as a man doing the same job, I believe a woman has a right to run a household, a company or even a country. HOWEVER, I do NOT hold the same opinion as Presidential candidate Barack Obama.. that all women between the ages of 18 and 25 should register for selective service. We are physically different from men. Our lungs are smaller, we don't have as many muscles, our hormones are different..putting us in a different situation when those hormones do what they are created to do. Women serving in the armed forces now are certainly being put into situations where they have to defend themselves in a war zone, but they've chosen to do so...these women who are capable of adapting to these situations. But not all women are capable, and therefore should NOT BE FORCED to do so. So, you want another reason to vote NO for Barack Obama. There you have it. He thinks woman should register for selective service. And as a woman I say, NO BAMA.
(could this really be more about his idea of a Civilian Service Corp that Obama wants to be as large as...and as well funded as the US Military??)

Soldiers use their hands, arms and upper body strength. They use their feet, ankles, calfs, thighs. They sit on their butts quite a bit but also have incredible stamina when needed. It has been shown women can strengthen all of these parts and can even be physically stronger then most men.
Soldiers use their brains and how many times have women been show to be smarter then us?
Men must be able to do terrible things in war and still function. Women do this with a regular frequency and function quite well most time without every remembering the incident.
I can think of as many women I would trust with my back as I can men. But the nice thing - those parts that men and women don't share and don't really affect their ability to soldier?
Well they can be useful during R&R - as long as all parties agree and the aforementioned hormones aren't rearing their ugly heads.
Just my 3 cents.
I think women should be allowed to register for selective service; and I am voting for Obama.
Actually, I'm voting against Sarah Palin, who has ties to the Alaskan Independence Party...a known secessionist group.
Well, I am voting AGAINST Barry Hussein Obama--an outright Socialist and borderline Marxist. Tit for Tat!
and.....as a veteran, I think that only the feminazis should be required to register for the selective service. After all, we are equal...right?
If all the ladies in our military, whether volunteers or draftees, looked as nice as you do at least we would have the prettiest Army in the history of mankind (or womankind). :-)
If Pamela Furr married Director, Writer and Producer Neil Burger, would she then be known as Pamela Furr Burger?
